I know that a title like the one above has to make you wonder what the heck I am talking about, but it is nothing strange to think that there are cool ways to recycle your old glass and plastic bottles. For example you can turn old glass bottles into serving trays for cheese and crackers like below. Of course this is kind of hard, but check out this article with other great way to recycle bottles that might be a little more fun than just putting them in the recycling bin. Remember, if we make recycling fun, then more people will want to do it!
This is a model of a new boat that a man wants to make with 16,000 plastic bottles to sail from San Francisco to Australia to spread the world about the power of recycling and other things you can do with bottles than just throw them away. I hope this guys does it and I hope that they turn this into a commercial industry so that anyone that wants a recycled boat can get one at a discount rate of course :)
Thankfully I am not unemployed just yet, but I thought this list was pretty funny and worth sharing. I hope that people aren't following it but it is still funny.
There is a deep desire in me to visit Vietnam. For one to see, first hand, the destruction that the US leveled on that country and the amazing resilient nature of the people that were able to survive the US onslaught. But also because it is a beautiful country with a diverse and rich history that I think is worth taking a look at. I mean the combination of so many asian cultures and then the french would make for some amazing architecture and even more amazing food. The only issue is getting over there because I am sure it is pretty cheap to stay and eat once you're in the country. But with this crisis maybe I can get a cheap flight, now all I need is the money.
I am just sick of AIG! These guys just have no shame. Paying out bonuses to top level executives that caused this financial mess in the first place and using my hard earned tax dollars to do it! It is just sickening to think how these people have consistently ripped off the American people and yet are able to walk around as free men. They should be put in Gitmo as terrorist for doing more to destablize this country than Alkhida ever did.Well I for one have just had it, the only solice I get is that other people are just as upset as I am and have created some funny t-shirts to celebrate the lunacy of the situation we are in. The US Forestry just announced in a report that they would be able to create up to 10 million jobs if they are given the resources to help the world manage the forests of the world and make sure that nations of the world have a sustainable plan for their green lands. I think this is something we really really need. The world needs to make sure that we protect our green spaces because they are literally the places that keep all of us alive. So I think it would be a reasonable and prudent move to create forest funds for the world and make sure that every country, not just the US is doing their part to protect forest and our future on this planet.
I really, really, really hope this is not just one of those one-time things because the economy sucks and gas prices are high. I really hope that oil is dropping because people are finally starting to make lifestyle changes that impact the amount of gas they use on a daily basis. If this is the case, if people are really starting to change their lives then we are in for such a great next generation I can't even believe it! I mean OPEC will no longer have control of our country and our money, we won't fight needless wars, and of course people will be healthier and happier when using alternative means of transportation. I mean this is just an all around good thing for the country and I can't wait to see if the trend continues for February and March!
I just find it hilarious that people with such high moral standards during good times would never allow legislation to go through state congresses that could legalize brothels, pot and more access to porn, but now are all trying to push these types of tax ideas through congress because we are in a recession and they need the money. I mean people are so shallow it just amazing to me. I can understand if someone has a belief and are not willing to compromise that, hell I almost respect them despite what their belief is. But to just throw all your ideals out the window because the economy is in a hard spot is just phony and sad. I mean don't get me wrong, I am for pot and brothels (pot brothels!), but I think that people need to stick to their ideals if they want to have a chance at keeping their integrity in the eyes of the voters. Oh well, at least we can't say that we are living in boring times.
So that cone snail looks pretty doesn't it? Looks like something you would see underwater while scuba diving and think "I am going to grab that and take it home." Well I would think twice about that. The Cone Snail has a barbed tentacle that contains poison that is so deadly it will paralyze and kill a human within a matter of minutes. Seems like overkill to me since there is no way this creature could eat an entire person, but it is for real. So if you are ever traveling in Southern Australia and decide to scuba please don't touch the snails cause they are definitely not the friendly/slimy American ones that you are used to.
I know that we are in a water crisis right now and that there are major changes that need to be done to the California water system. I also make sure that each day I try my best to use as little water as I can (yes I let it mellow if it's yellow). That is why I need a break. I need something to keep me sane and I think a t-shirt like this is just the trick. I mean it has all the principles of being green and saving water it just presents it in a way that everyone can find a little humorous. See below to understand what I am talking about.
