Now if I have to die, and I guess we all do, I think I want to go out like this guy in Bali.  It is a flaming funeral spire in Balianese religion and it has to be pretty damn cool.  I for sure want to go out like this because at least it will be a party.

Check out this video called Miniature Earth.  It takes the idea of the Earth only having a population of 100 and still having the same problems that we can today.   Very enlightening to all the problems that exist in the world and how privileged we are to live in the US which is literally the pinnacle of modern society in living standards and oppurtunities to advance.  It is a sad truth of this world, watch the video to understand what I mean.

This is a map worth checking out.  It is the map of death caused by natural disasters across the country.  Apparently those in the south have a higher chance of dying because of hurricanes, flooding, tornadoes and just about everything else.  I am scared about it because as global warming gets worse so will global disasters and especially in these hot spot areas.  I am worried for the people of the south and I hope that we can turn this country around and stop the stressing of the weather that threatens so many human and animal lives.

Finally the report has come out on the mine collapse that killed three miners last year and guess what?  It wasn’t and accident.  The owner of the mine had instructed the miners to drill into the mine support beams and therefore put themselves at risk.  Of course they feared losing their jobs and did, and in the end lost their lives.  This is a terrible practice that the actions of one man cost the lives of three.  I think the owner of the mine should forge all of his worldly assets and they should be given to the family of the miners and then he should be locked up for the rest of his life.  Obviously someone that has no respect for human life should not be allowed to run such a large corporation in a very dangerous industry.  I only hope that just will come to pass on this man so that other people like him will not repeat his actions.
