It is amazing that other countries are starting to become as developed as the US and increasing their standard of living, what worries me is that they are doing it the same way the US did. Can't they learn from our mistakes? There were so many corners cut and so much destroyed during the Industrial Revolution that any country going through that now should know that they can do it better to not cause the same damage to the world. I know that we made mistakes but I think if everyone makes the mistakes that we make then the world will surely be done for.
This is a map worth checking out. It is the map of death caused by natural disasters across the country. Apparently those in the south have a higher chance of dying because of hurricanes, flooding, tornadoes and just about everything else. I am scared about it because as global warming gets worse so will global disasters and especially in these hot spot areas. I am worried for the people of the south and I hope that we can turn this country around and stop the stressing of the weather that threatens so many human and animal lives.

I love ads like this. They get the point across with imagery and they do it so well that it might actually get people to think. In the world today, people don't have time to read ads and if they do, they are too distracted with videos, blackberrys and ipods so you have little chance of catching their attention. That is why simple powerful imagery works well. It has a chance to quickly catch a fleeting glance and then when the brain processes that glance the person might look up again to see something so unusual that they will suddenly get the message and understand that they need to fix something in this world. Here's to hoping you give this message more than a fleeting glance.

So one has to wonder if Fay is going to be worse than Katrina and if the government is up to the task to the increasingly dangerous weather that global warming is creating. I am not the only one that is saying that global warming is just going to create more extreme weather. But the real question is, can we handle it? I have a fear that as it gets worse over the next 50 years that we will no longer be able to live in hurricane places or drought places or anything like that. What is going to happen to this country and are we ready? I am not sure and I am kind of scared.
