Just a thought, you know that people are still suffering the aftermath of Katrina? Well they are. I think this is the apron that the entire US government needs to get so that they can roll up their sleeves and really get dirty actually fixing this Katrina thing the right way. It makes me sad and scared for the rest of the country as more and more natural disasters occur. What is going to happen to everyone else? I can only hope that we have learned from Katrina and that a change in the administration is the only change that we need in this government to make things a lot better for the US and the rest of the world.

This fight over the executive priviledge of White House Aids is finally getting really interesting. Today, a judge ruled that White House Aids (like Karl Rove), must adhere to the ruling of a subpoena and testify before congress. To me this is great because we will finally have some clarity into the danger the White House has put this country in by letting people like Karl Rove run this country. But what is really interesting is the precedent that it sets. Right now it seems that the executive branch is running rampant with all kinds of rules and exemptions and has really messed up the balance of power. So now the Judicial branch is putting its foot down and changing the power structure to restore the balance. I hope that it works because a strong executive branch with a weak judicial branch is just like a monarchy and we haven't had one of those for about 200 years now, I'd like to keep it that way.

In the wake of yesterdays earthquake in Southern California, I can’t help but think that there is going to be another one soon and that it is going to be the BIG ONE that everyone says is going to hit California sometime soon. What does this mean for the residents of the Golden State? Well I think they might want to get ready for the traveling nightmare that is FEMA. FEMA is still trying to clean up from the disaster that was New Orleans, does anyone think they are ready for a major earthquake? Nope, I don’t think so. I am worried for those that live in earthquake regions of California and I hope that they don’t plan on getting assistance because it will not be coming fast if this government has anything to say about it.

CNN is reporting that they just found a huge stash of supplies (valued around 60 million) that was supposed to go to Katrina Victims but because of some errors the victims only recieved 18.5 million worth of supplies. In effect, the government was saying that every person was 1/5 of their actual value. If I remember correctly that isn't the first time the government has labeled a black person as 1/5 of the value they actually are...

As much as I am excited about ol' Scotty boy coming forward, I am really just annoyed that he has decided to do it 5 years after the fact. I mean come on! All the stuff he is saying now is nothing new, the only thing that is different is that he is an inside man saying it. We knew all this stuff. Anyways, I hope he does testify, I want to see some change happen this year, I want some people to be punished for their sins against humanity. I basically mean I want Bush to go to jail and his cronies too. Will it happen? Will he ever get put on trail? No, that is not the way it works in this country, but at least it is something I can dream for, a system in which all government official are accountable.
