Getting rid of plastic bags has been a great movement in this country and I applaud the efforts that people in the bay area and in select areas around the country are making, but it is not enough. We all need to get organic grocery shopping bags like the one below to reduce waste in landfill and start getting people into the renewable mindset. So get one of these cost-effective bags and do your part to start saving the environment.

Happy Earth day out there to all those that are trying to save the planet and not destroy it. I know there is lots to be done my friends but don't get discouraged. The mountain wasn't moved in one day. We must keep the faith of cleaning up this planet to restore it for future generations to enjoy the planter our parents and their parents before them enjoyed. This is not a task that will finish in our lifetime, we will not see the fruits of our labors. But when we all go to that great rest in the sky we will know that we did something, and everything to ensure that our children and others' children would have the chance to survive and thrive on this little blue planet. Don't stop fighting the good fight.
New year's is just a few weeks off and it might be a good time to become resolved that this is the year that we try and save the planet. Or if you are too lazy you can give someone this calendar and have them do it for you. Just kidding, we all need to work harder to save the planet and bring about great change in this country and our life styles. Of course this is going to be work and that is why a green calendar like the one below is a great daily affirmation as to why you are doing what you are doing. Each month you can look at the creatures you are saving and know that the sacrifices you make now will pay out in dividends for future generations (which will include your children and their children).
Here is the first step, here is your daily reminder to take a step in the right direction.

Many people don't know that used motor oils is actually easy to dispose of, which is great because this stuff happens to be very toxic to the environment. If you are doing your own oil change (I recommend this, it's easy and will save you some serious cash) just put the old oil into the new containers once you've changed the oil and then take them to your local gas station. Most gas stations will accept used motor oil and it can often be reused to actually make gasoline. So do the world a favor next time you change the oil and recycle it!
